    Prayer Points

For myself

Kiwoko hospital
"We treat, Jesus heals."
This is the mission statement of Kiwoko Hospital - clear reflection of the hospital's vision of holistically serving those in need. We continue to strive to provide the best standards of care possible within our available resources. The hospital's work and witness is a reflection of our hard working and gifted staff.
Please pray:

  1. That we would continue to know Christ for ourselves and so to make Him known to others.
  2. Staff numbers - we could use several more doctors on the team.
  3. Finance - new opportunities involve new expense and local people are often unable to support the real costs. We need to find more significant long term donors to stabilise the financial resources.
  4. We have increasing opportunities to influence national and indeed international health provision, particularly through greater input to medical training. These are an exciting reflection of Kiwoko's standing as a centre of excellence. Please pray for the growth of these developments and for wisdom to balance new opportunities with the commitment to serve the needy communities around that hospital.

Luwero diocese
Nearly 300 local church leaders attended a pastors' training conference at Kiwoko hospital last week. Pray that on returning to their parishes they would implement lessons learned. Pray that unity between Anglican and Pentecostal churches would continue to grow. Bishop Evans Kisekka carries considerable weight. Pray for his influence on matters relating to Kiwoko hospital as well as the church at large. Pray for his own relationship with God in the midst of a busy schedule.

Uganda
As I write this, the votes in the country's presidential and parliamentary elections are being counted. Whatever the outcome, Uganda needs to move forward with integrity and deal conclusively with the long running conflict in the north. Because of some of the issues around President Museveni's potential re-election, some international donors have withdrawn some financial aid to Uganda. This clearly cannot continue without significant harm to those in need Thanks for reading, and indeed praying. I look forward to seeing you either in Uganda, or back in Ireland sometime in the future. May God bless you and whatever you're about in the meantime.

Rory.
